These posts document the adventures of Paige (author) and husband Cooper as they build a homestead from the ground up.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Startup executive by day, homesteader by heart.
Thatās me, Paige. I created Desk to Dirt as a space to explore the balance between ambition and simplicity, career and creativity, work and soil.
In other words: The life that has me brushing dirt off my face just before a Google Meet.
Whether youāre here for practical tips, a little inspiration, or just to see what life looks like when a desk job meets a dirt-filled dream, Iām so glad youāve found your way.

Desk to Dirt is where modern life meets homesteading. Itās a place for anyone navigating the contradictions of balancing a full, ambitious life with the pull to slow down and live more intentionally. Here, weāll explore everything from thriving in the workplace and crafting handmade goods to growing food and savoring lifeās seasonal rhythms.
The blog is divided into five core categories:
š± Grow: Gardening, homesteading, and living slow.
āļø Make: Crafting and DIY projects.
āØ Live: Celebrating the seasons and finding joy in the small stuff.
š² Eat: Cooking, preserving, and feasting.
š Thrive: Crushing it at work and building wealth.
Every post is rooted in the idea that ambition and simplicity donāt have to be at odds. With a little creativity, they can coexist beautifully.

Thatād be me, the author.
By day, Iām a Creative Director and product marketer at a tech startup. By every other hour, Iām tending to chickens, planting seeds, and dreaming up DIY projects. My husband and I live on a small farm, where we raise ducks and chickens, grow a ton of our own food, and embrace the daily joys (and challenges) of modern homesteading.
Beyond the day-to-day, Iām someone shaped by lifeās twists and turns. Iāve faced intergenerational trauma, navigated the challenges of being a highly sensitive person (HSP), and found solace in creativity, connection, and the land. These experiences fuel my passion for cultivating an intentional life, and theyāre part of what I share here on Desk to Dirt.

We bought the land in winter, knowing we might not see the ground before closing. A few warm spells gave us a glimpseābut it wasnāt until after the deal was done that we saw what weād inherited: buried pots, plastic beds, and a field full of questions.
